Hypnosis Techniques
Different Methods and Hypnosis Techniques
There are numerous hypnosis techniques that can be used today and they vary in length of time and strategy. From the point of view of time, hypnosis techniques can take from minutes to even seconds.
One of the fastest is called rapid induction and it is effective in a matter of 3 to 7 minutes. It has been widely used for stage purposes so that the audience does not get bored and enjoy the effects of the hypnotizer’s commands as fast as possible. There is still even a faster method than this one and it is called instant induction.
All it takes is one command on the part of the hypnotizer and the subject will enter trance state in seconds. You can imagine how fast the impact on audience is and how showy it becomes if performed in front of others.
However, the instant induction causes suspicion in the eye of the viewer since few members of the audience tend to believe that it was all directed by the show organizers.
Other common hypnosis techniques that are considered simple and do not focus so much on time but deal more with what you do as hypnotizer are as follows: the fixation induction, indirect induction, muscle relaxation induction, and progressive muscle relaxation induction.
The fixation method is about asking the subject to concentrate as hard as he/she can on an object. This results in the subject shifting away his/her attention from the external elements that normally would distract him/her and render the session of hypnosis ineffective.
The method is traditional and it is one of the most widely known among us all. However, it is not easy to use a pendulum and get people in a trance and that can be tried by you at home to see how difficult it is.
The next of the hypnosis techniques mentioned above is indirect induction. The key to this method is to avoid using commands; instead it involves metaphors and analogies which trigger the trance without the subject’s awareness. This method is highly recommended for the subjects who are reluctant to following commands and suggestions when aware of receiving them.
The muscle relaxation induction involves relaxing all the muscles in your body from top to bottom or the other way round. It is highly recommended for those who need to relax and need to practice self-hypnosis.
Lastly, the progressive muscle relaxation method is more therapy-like than the previous one because it specifically focuses on certain areas of the body that need to be relaxed for medical purposes. With this method chronic tensions in various muscles can be relieved and the subject can be helped to feel better physically.
Hypnosis Therapy
Professionals Use Hypnosis Therapy
Hypnosis therapy is used by psychiatrists, psychologists and cognitive-behavioral therapist for the treatment of phobias, addictions, depression, eating disorders, insomnia, pain, irritable bowel syndrome, addictions and lots more. Within a scientific environment, hypnosis has a positive impact on one’s life, however, there are dangers to the use of hypnosis carelessly and by anybody. We are all familiar with stage hypnosis or hypnosis used for entertainment purposes.
You may think that the show is staged and that what you see is not real. Well, you are definitely wrong, because what happens on stage could happen to you. Nobody wants to remain without control over body and mind. The implications are far beyond the irony and comedy of the moment, they translate the response to induction, suggestion and control while a person is in the hypnotic trance. This means that while doctors use hypnosis to treat people and help them recover their health, others manipulate play with the unconscious for a variety of other reasons.
Entertainment Hypnosis
With entertainment hypnosis or covert hypnosis (used for persuasion and manipulation), we get the picture of a less rewarding hypnotic experience. Anything might happen while in trance, because your deep levels of the mind are susceptible to influence verbally or non-verbally. Therefore, you should not put yourself in such a vulnerable position unless you’re working with a certified professional. It’s not possible to try hypnosis therapy in order to become rich, because no specialist will treat you for such reasons. If he/she does, then he/she is a fraud.
Keep in mind that hypnosis therapy may work just fine when you use it on doctor’s orders, no otherwise. These being said, you should keep away from those who try to sell you various self-improvement solutions meant to attract abundance or emotional freedom to your life. Expanding your consciousness has more benefits than programming the unconscious, because in the light of consciousness has the revelation of what is really important. Consciousness represents the path to peace, truth and wisdom.
Very much the opposite, the unconscious represents the dark waters of the individual soul and of mankind ultimately. For those who plunge into it, madness is around the corner. Therefore, taking hypnosis therapy lightly is lack of professionalism. Do not even dare to go there because once you burn yourself with fire, you remain scarred for a lifetime. If you lose your mind and become lost in the unconscious, there is no way back to reality.
